May 3-28 there are 19 regional artists from the Art Allies posse showing in The Button Factory. Reception on May 13, 5-7pm. This is a great show. Deets linked from the Art Allies Visual Arts Events page.
Now look who I found…
inside on such a sunny Saturday…
toiling away to connect KW with some awesome art. That’s right: my buddies Jacqui Murphy and Debbie Currie. I think they’re all smiles because Deb loves having her picture taken.
Lots of hardware needed.
and some wire hangers on the back to accommodate…
hanging from chains…
here.
Feels like I’m on a Soheila Esfahani (right) blitz this week. I’m a fan.
Michelle Salter, nice.
Joel Masewich (I’m pretty sure…).
My man, Mr. David Hoover.
I took about 30 shots of this great found-object work by John Hofstetter, who is…
thanking Jacqui with jewellery.
Terrific textures here.
Haven’t seen Dave’s work since the Late Nights and Blue Collar Mornings show at The Sign Depot. He’s been busy.
Amy Ferrari (I think). This is why we have the comment form below: so you can commend correct me.
James Nye! Great to see you…
on Thursday hanging out at CuteGecko after visiting Melissa Doherty’s Open Studio reception.
Second floor, too!
Great story on this one: remember the installation at KWAG where the gallery floor was covered with canvas and visitors could create their own homes/stores/parks/whatever on a miniature street grid? Well all that canvas was rescued by…
this keen-eyed artist and used as foundation for this piece. Lot #76 shown here in the under-painting. Nice.
Nye’s “Venice”. Deb needs this painting.
Delightfully…
whimsical stuff from Amy Ferrari.
Be sure to note the titles on David Hoover’s work. Just sayin’.
Big reveal…
of this vibrant landscape.
This multimedia piece incorporates…
metal! Is this stainless? Or aluminum? Is it waterjet cut or was it done with a saw? I guess you’ll just have to…
visit The Button Factory to find out.
Happy making,
DW
Thanks Darin!
Just one correction — Reference to Laurie Wonfor Nolan above is actually Michelle Salter (encaustic) and Joel Masewich (acrylic).
Awesome post.
Jac.
Great, thanks for the correction, Jac. Fixed up now, I think.
