I got down to Cambridge Saturday morning to catch a short burst of street art before reluctantly getting on with my other weekend travels. This is the inaugural spin of the Cambridge International Street Art Festival and I like everything about it.
The TL;DR: show continues Sunday 10am-6pm and the weather looks perfect, so check it out.
Above, Shalak Attack, billed from Chile/Toronto, throwing some great design and technique on the banks of the Grand River. Good to see such talent coming in from beyond our borders.
Over on the east bank, eight artists still enjoying the morning shade of the buildings. Hot day.

I only had time to take a quick spin at street level and caught some cellograff work on Dickson, which is painting on shrink wrap, in this case stretched between two lamp posts. Not sure if this is Astro or Kanos here, the artist duo from Paris, France.
With some help from friendly volunteers, I found my way down to the waterline…

Yup, that’s him.
Looks like Hespeler artist Ean Kools who I photographed painting a piano back in 2014.

Dave Bonzai from London, UK had a great figure going.
The artists were great to chat with.
Turns out that sometimes your “canvas” is a pool liner.
I was almost out of time, but stopped on my way back up the bank to talk with artist Mediah out of Toronto.
While he was battling some windblown ripple in the paint surface…
he noted that the Loop paint was some of the best paint he had ever used.
Gotta head back on Sunday and see the finished pieces…
and the new pieces.
On the way to the car, I saw more colour filling in…
