Happily, the outdoor part of the market was still operating this morning. With all the well wishes and promises of support online, I was curious if people would haul ass up to the market before work and spend some money. And I’m always curious to see real media folks do what they do. I was also looking for some peaches. I was not disappointed on any front.
Early and chilly.
Pretty stark up close.
There was a metric tonne of hardware recording the market today. Mine included.
And people. Buying.
Can you pick out the security detail?
David Imrie from CTV. You can learn a lot about what’s going on by eavesdropping on media folks and watching where they’re all heading.
Very odd to see all the bolts and hardware sticking out of the charred beams.
Somewhere in there is an apple fritter maker. Ignition point is thought to be at this end of the building.
And then Premier Wynne arrived…
and offered words of support.
Hardware.
David Bebee shooting for The Record on the last table there.
People can get pretty cynical about politicians…
but I thought it was totally stand-up goodwill on the Premier’s part to truck out to St Jacobs in the morning. Respect.
Including this shot of Bebee because I want to ask him what lens he was shooting.
Oh, and I did get peaches. Lots of them.
If you like the market, get out there Saturday and show your support with your feet and your cash.

Really nice pictures here, Darin. Like the captions, too. Good on you for getting up there.
You’ve got such a great eye Darin. Thanks for sharing.
Right on Darin, love the shot of all the cameras. Media media….
