To our firefighters and police constables: respect. A fire broke out at ish & chips on King St. N. Thursday afternoon and my bro, Dave White, called me about some massive smoke uptown. I grabbed my cameras and headed over there. Heart goes out to those displaced, glad nobody was hurt.

Incredible amount of smoke and the wind kept shifting.
Looking west on Dupont.
Behind the old post office.
Brohemus. There were an unbelievable number of DSLR’s on the scene. Dave got some shots with his iPhone.
South is busker festival, and…
north was fire.

Some amazing shots Darin. I felt like I was right there. Thanks for sharing.
nicely done, dw!!
Amazing images Darin! How did you get in so close? I would have throught the area was off limits. I love so many of these images.
Thanks Larry. The police were being totally reasonable about access, and it helps to have a couple of cameras around your neck with big lenses. Walk in purposefully and look like you know what you’re doing.

Incredible photos…right into the action…thanks for bringing it to life
What would we do without you DW!
You are our city’s private eyes, capturing stellar and vivid imagery, and gifting us opportunities to become engaged in moments in time that we would otherwise, only be able to vaguely imagine at best.
Thanks a million!!
