Only 3 weeks away, on Sunday June 8, is the ever-awesome Grand Porch Party, and y’all know that (and you’ve told two friends, right?) but some of may not know some of the bands playing at GPP. Last weekend I got out on Saturday night to catch a set by my friends, The Short Films, who you’re going to see at GPP again this year. Here’s Tessa (guitar/voc), Ryan (drums), and Russell (bass) doing what they do best, this time around at Hack’s.
There’s really nothing like live music. The more you support it, the more you get.
Click through for more pics of The Short Films, and stay tuned for pics of other bands playing GPP. Now get this event in your calendar: Sun, June 8, 2-5pm
I caught Tessa’s mention on facebook that the band was playing at Hack’s on Hazelglen in Kitchener. Never been there, nobody to go with, never stopped me.
I was totally digging these chandeliers.
I have been spotted. It’s not hard because I’m not shy about getting right up front to get some decent shots.
For an unassuming strip-mall venue, this whole treatment with the lights and swaths of black and red fabric really place-makes.
All set for the set.
Jump on stage.
I know those shoes.
Singers, help your photographers with a clean, no-mic, shot by pulling away once in a while..
Side-stage. I liked this one. Layers of the band.
Ok, last one, I promise.
Sometimes, all you see is the door…
Get paid, yo.
Buy music from the artists…
and come see the band at The Grand Porch Party. Sunday, June 8, 2-5pm, right? Get there. Oh, and say hi to me when you’re there.
